From the Russian President in Response to Demographic Problems

Here’s what President Dmitry Medvedev said:

“We need to have the correct attitude toward children. Without this we have no future,”
Russia has experienced a dramatic population decline, going from 148.5 million people in 1995 to 143 million today.
Legislators in Russia’s lower house of parliament have prepared a draft law that they hope will reduce the more than 1 million abortions performed in the country each year.
