I am aware of 7 physicians that have trained at the University of Missouri-Columbia Family Practice Residency (including myself) that chose not to prescribe birth control pills or other hormonal contraceptives and were respected and allowed to practice according to their conscience. Only 4 of the 7 were Catholic and there were various reasons (for example for 2 of them it had to do with not prescribing to unmarried persons). Joseph B.
