New Executive Director Jenn Girioux called on many of her pro-life friends to make an appearance, and we were glad to help. Read more about the event at Pro-Life Action League’s blog .
And yes, we danced! I learned the Electric Slide even.On the right side is first a photo of Bobby and Lila, then one of Bobby and me.
Rich and I drove to Cincinnati from Chicago. After we were well on our way, I realized I left my purse – and driver’s license – in the other car. Oh, well. We decided nothing would happen and I drove on.
Rich, Lila, Bobby and I drove to and from the event together. On our way back to the hotel – at 1 a.m. – I accidentally turned the wrong way on a one-way street and had to turn back around – with a car full of young pro-lifers following us.
Wouldn’t you know, a cop was at the stop light watching the entire time. He followed us to the hotel, and I thought this was the big one, I was going to jail.
But our clean-cut youngsters, led by John-Paul Deddens, head of Students for Life of IL , greased the skids for us, chatting with the officer until we walked up. By then he knew we were not drunks, just lost out-of-towners, and let us go.
Or maybe it was the cookie Bobby offered him. Not sure. Anyway, I escaped disaster – God graciously allowed me to avoid a well-deserved consequence that night!
