I interviewed at Hopkins for OB residency in 12/2003. When I asked how the residents learn ultrasound, the answer was, “oh, they learn it when they’re on the abortion service.” Warren Buffett donates huge sums of money for “family planning” at one of the hospitals the residents rotate through. Many attendings are very interested in family planning, and some take “mission” trips abroad to third world countries for this purpose (I assume with WHO, etc.). I highly advise against going here for residency. Please contact me with questions
