This residency program comprises St. Joseph’s Hospital (formerly a Catholic Hospital) and Maricopa County Hospital, both in Phoenix. I graduated from this program in 2008 and was NFP only. This program had another NFP-only resident just prior to me, and one of the attendings is NFP only. The program director was Catholic, and although he himself prescribed, he was very respectful and accommodating towards me. I will say that, unfortunately, the hospital was involved in an abortion controversy about 5 years ago, and Bishop Olmstead removed their Catholic status.
