I was tolerated, but it was not a supportive NFP-only environment. There were no like-minded faculty (even though several were Catholic). However, there were a couple NFP-only physicians in the area. I see more potential for support of NFP-only providers since one of the local OB/GYN physicians converted to NFP-only practice shortly before I completed residency. Also, it is my understanding that there is an area Catholic Medical Association group that occasionally meets (may be a potential source for additional support). There is also a significant Amish and Mennonite population.
